Change

It's a new season and with that comes change. Change is good when it's necessary but it isn't always welcome. Change happens in our lives, in our workplaces and in our staff networks.

When the winds of change blow, staff networks need to have a solid foundation so that they don't lose their 'footing' or succumb to fear and worry. Many will look to them as a source of support especially when everything else in the organisation appears uncertain. Staff Networks also need to quickly regroup and become sufficiently agile to respond to any turbulence.

How do you handle change? Do you resist it? Fear it? Embrace it?  The following may be a useful guide to reframing how to view change:

Chance to seek out opportunities or new ways of doing things

Have the courage to take a step of faith and maximise those opportunities

Ask yourself questions. e.g. What are the benefits of this change?

Never ignore risks. Acknowledge and mitigate them

Gear up for the new road ahead

Expect good things. Remain positive

Let's take a lesson from mother earth. The earth prepares for change - the most constant thing it has ever known - by adapting constantly to a new way of existing, we can learn to embrace the changes that life throws our way.

Perhaps you are going through a time of change in some aspect of your life and are tempted to run away from it or mourn the old ways. Rather than fear change, see it as an opportunity to grow and strengthen your resilience.

See it as a new season with new opportunities.  #power
